How an Eco Homes Assessment is calculated:

Category 2 - Water

The proposed development will have a low impact on the environment thanks to steps taken to save energy and water consumption.

Variable flush WC's will be installed to reduce water consumption. Flushing with a variable flush WC will save an average family of 4 up to 6,000 gallons of water every year. Rainwater will be collected in a water butt and harvested for WC flushing which will further reduce water consumption.

Grey water recycling will see water from the wash basins and shower diverted to a storage vessel for use in WC flushing.

The design provides for a rainwater harvesting and storage into a water butt installed at ground level with a diverter from the down pipe to recycle rainwater for use on the garden or for watering window boxes.

The boiler will be of condensing type.
