Overview of what the estate division does?
The Estates Division is the driving
force of our business. At support levels
we various roles including
Reception/Information Officers, Property
Services Officers, and Manager’s
Assistant Grades. We work in small teams
around an Estate/Property Manager who is
responsible for the strategic delivery
of the portfolio objectives. There are
route maps for career progression,
learning objectives and sponsored
professional training. These include City and
Guilds, NVQ’s and the Institute of
Residential Property Management Qualifications. It
takes about 6-9 months to study for the
Institute of Residential Property
Management’s exams and on passing you
get letters after your name and a £1,000
pay rise guaranteed. Our vision is for
every member of this team to have
letters after their name!
If you like a job where no 2 days are
the same this could be for you. If you
are creative, like making decisions and
can prioritise competing demands we will
teach you the rest. We have policies and
protocols to guide you as well as the
lease which provides the legal structure.
Necessary skills include the abilities to scan
information, assimulate what is critical
and propose a way forward.
Clients will look to the team to set the
milestones and report regularly to them.
So if you are phone shy or don’t like
keeping customers in the communication
loop please don’t apply. Financial
awareness and a commitment to self
learning will be expected. All that
said, ultimately we need the decisions
to be made by the Client but the Client
will look to you to articulate the
issues and make recommendations so he or
she feels comfortable to make the
decision.
The most important qualifications are
proactivity, energy and a positive
attitude but we do look for candidates
that are educated to A’level standard
and/or have relevant practical
experience and good grades at GCSE/O’level.
You will need to be able to write
letters from a brief, manage expenditure
to keep spending on budget.
We run weekly training meetings to
deliver you the context and professional
skills you will need. A full corporate
induction will include a secondment to
our Property Finance and Legal Services
Teams to make sure you make friends
across the spectrum of disciplines
within the company who will support you
going forwards with the skills and
information you need.
If you are good at administration, want
responsibility and a career not a job,
Ringley’s Estates Division definitely
has a lot to offer. Because we need
proactive people the only way to get a
job in this team is to phone up and tell
us why you think you may be suited!
People who aren’t passionate about delivering Customer solutions need not apply.

What type of people work in Ringley’s Estates Operations team?
 |
After my Business Studies degree, I came across an opportunity to work in property on the management side. Having to develop an understanding of the legal, financial and practical complexities, I found I could use the intellectual skills learned during my degree course. Attending regular training courses, I have gained industry-standard certification with the IRPM and am proud to say I now lead a small team of people, all within four years. |

Being in Property Management has
given me the opportunity to be
involved in an area of property
that I did not previously know
existed at this level. It is
giving me the opportunity to
pursue a career with the benefit
of gaining accredited
qualifications.
The advantage this role has over
other admin/office roles is
that, lets face it, it
definitely is not mundane. Every
day is different. There is a
vast amount of opportunity for
learning different disciplines
within the structure ie;
Finance, Legal, Sales. There is
also the opportunity of escaping
the office occasionally to
attend site visits! I do feel
that the customer service skills
I built up previously through
high end sales has been a
definite advantage in this role.
However, juggling is also a big
advantage!

The main reason I like working
in the Property Services
Department of residential
management is that it is always
varied – you rarely have the
same challenge twice. My work is
essentially administration but
administration with a
difference! |

dealing with people from all
walks of life, want variety and
unpredictability, can add to

colleagues on busy days we want
to hear from you.
